There is nothing I enjoy better than seeing what others have put together in regards to aerial video and photography rigs for an rc helicopter. I recently came across a site that may be of interest to you if you are into building your own aerial rig for your camera. I also enjoy creating my own ways of producing a rig that will support a camera as well as be light enough to get in the air. One site I came across in particular has to do with trouble shooting all potential problems associated with rc helicopters and the weight aspect. The link to the site is http://www.myresearch.lt/blog/onboard_camera/onboard_camera.phtml. If , however you are looking to produce a homemade gimbal for your camera in order to do video on the ground economically , you can find out more at http://www.yb2normal.com/DIYsteadicam.html.
Here is a rig I built using lightweight 1/2 inch copper piping , the weight so far is just under 4 pounds , just around the same weight as my pro 60 mount but without the servos.
